by Mohammed Faris
The Productive Muslim redefines productivity as Energy × Focus × Time (directed towards a beneficial goal), shifting the purpose from simple material output to seeking Barakah (Divine Blessing) and maximizing rewards in both this life and the Hereafter.
1. The Productivity Equation
Mohammed Faris argues that true productivity requires balancing three core resources. If any one is missing, productivity fails:
2. Spiritual Productivity
The book places spirituality at the foundation of a productive life, rather than treating it as a separate compartment.
3. Physical Productivity
To serve Allah and the community effectively, one must maintain the "vehicle" (the body).
4. Social Productivity
Productivity extends beyond the self to how one benefits others.
5. Habits & Legacy
The writer quoted the books I find legit, so it kinda relates to my prior readings. It is fascinating to see the dot being connected from a religious perspective.
I would say it is a contemporary sunnah practice that is really close to our daily activities, with the same context and vibes as this generation operates in. Like going to the gym, eating healthy food, and getting enough sleep. It gave me the context for which ayah or sunnah supported those suggestions.
I looked online, and they offer a free tracker to help us start a productive life.
Mohammed also teaches and trains people to be productive offline. So his case studies are rich in context, too.
I am planning to revisit regularly as a reminder.
Could not think of any :)
Those who want to start over and lead a productive life but do not know how.
Muslims who want to be back to the Sunnah and Islamic guidance on productive life and the Akhirah.
"We used to be a nation that led a productive civilization. But now we may have misunderstood the concept of tawaqal. "
"Fasting can lead to productivity. We are trained to resist temptation and do what is long-term beneficial instead. "
"Have one shared calendar only. Be focused. "
