by Barack Obama
It is a memoir. What would you think it is about? haha. It is basically the story on how Barack got there, a little bit about the childhood, the personal circumstance, being minority, and the slanders of being so Black-support and unsupportive of the status quo of other group might think, and how he ran the administration the struggle, the considerations that he needed to think, the trade-offs, the goals he had. It's genuinely an inspiration. Although I found things that are different or refreshing to add to my knowledge.
I love the fact that I just knew, that Barack smokes. Not that healthy president we'd think hehe.
Yes, we know that it is not easy to get to be the President of the strongest and biggest country in the world, I appreciate the efforts, the journey, but Barack is a funny person too.
He touched on how being a minority and facing racism in the USA as well growing up. How he took pride on that as well, which I think, YOU SHOULD, Barack. It's hard.
He had goals to make the world a better place in addressing climate change and advocate for renewable energy and energy efficiency. It is touching when he told the readers, that his motivation is his daughters.
I loved when he touched on the unpapered people in the US facing the horrible fate that they might think they are American, and have the American education, but they will never be able to work as professional and get the full rights because they are not legally American.
I also liked when he pointed out that, he just needed to deal with very critical and highly traded off things, and did not need to deal with business as usual issues in the USA, because everything is already auto pilot. That's expected, this is the USA we are talking about. So, the circumstance is different with Indonesia's president for example, we're not in that tier yet. Out of our league still, but we'll get there!!. (optimism is good, especially during this time). Regardless tho, Barack still read the letter American sent him. He did something on that litlle things too, very sentimental.
I found out that Iran and Middle East dynamics are always in the US mind. Iran war, is expected even from Obama's administration. People is right, Trump has more "guts" to do it. Regardless the considerations he makes. Palestine and Israel dynamics are always there too. Big issue for them, in each administration. We should see it as a pattern guys.
In Obama's administration, he advocates for better healthcare system. He also faced the recession risks in front of him. But this is the cheat, the great people in economy come from the US, and in this circumstance, he got to consult with Waren Buffet himself. What a privilege. Hence, the US should not weak bro. You have no threats. You have no excuse. haha
Barack trusted Biden, but not Trump. He didn't think this guy could ever be elected, but his worst thought came true. Haha.
What could be better is nothing to do with the book. If there are things that I don't agree, they will be based on my opinions on Barack and the USA. For example, when his family concerned about him having the education in Jakarta instead of in the USA, and I had the uneasy feeling on how bad they perceive(d) our education system. Well, it is bad though, otherwise he couldn't have attended Harvard. But yea, it maybe me feeling upset of the reality of Indonesia as well. Hey, we're getting there.
Why it is important to visit Jerussalem, and make it the first thing you do when you first appointed to be the the US President?
He thinks that we are in the ASEAN is SKSD to him. Just because he grew up briefly in Indonesia. We should not take him seriously close tho guys, but what can we do, we want to be close to the powerful leader in the world. wkwk
We, Indonesian, are too proud to say that He "pulang kampung" when he gave the lecturer in University of Indonesia, and praised him too much just because he said apakabar and nasi goreng. Turned out, it is what he does. He wants to engage to new people and country by learnig local knowledge and norms. So, we should not really be sentimental about it, people.
Why did you hate Bin Laden so much, that you are really proud to "neutralise" aka m*rder him? He's just fighting for his people, he had his idealism, so what, we all have.
You, haha. Those who want to make sense of the USA system think of the world. I mean, yes Barack has his personal take on his journey, but as the autopilot government, it is the USA system who leads Barack to decided things back then.
